CO-FOUNDER - PROJECT LEAD & DESIGNER

Ana Derby is a Spanish-American designer who was born and raised in the Middle East. She attended Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Science, Technology and Society, and minor in Fine Arts from Scripps College in California. Ana worked for Atkins–Middle East Division, the world-renowned Architecture firm responsible for the iconic Burj al Arab of Dubai. During her two years at Atkins, she worked as an Office Manager and Project Coordinator before going on to pursue her Master of Architecture degree at SCI Arc in Los Angeles.

Ana worked at Xefirotarch, the boutique atelier of SCI Arc Director Hernan Diaz Alonso, where she participated in various projects, from the design of a bridge in Barcelona, Spain, to competition entries for museums in Ruusupuisto, Finland and Shenzhen, China. She founded the design studio, Tilted by Design, in 2017 with her partner Kaveh Naeeni, and has extensive experience as an Architectural Designer, Project Manager, and in navigating the complex building permitting process of Los Angeles.

CO-FOUNDER - PROJECT MANAGER

Kaveh Naeeni is an Iranian-American designer who studied in Isfahan, Iran, New York, and Los Angeles. He received his Bachelor Degree in Math and Computer Science from SUNY Purchase and later completed a second degree in Fine Arts with a focus on sculpture at the Art + Design School of SUNY Purchase. He then went on to obtain his Master of Architecture degree at the Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles, California.

Kaveh worked with New York based artist Phillip Listengart for several years in preparing pieces for art exhibitions in Los Angeles. He also worked with and trained under Iranian-based artist Parvaneh Etemadi. After completing his Master of Architecture degree, he worked for ROTO Architects, Bijan and Associates, and later co-founded Tilted by Design. Kaveh has wide-ranging experience as an Architectural Designer and Project Manager.

MANAGING PARTNER - PROJECT LEAD & DESIGNER

Cayetana López is a Spanish-American technical architect and designer. She studied in Madrid and Los Angeles and has a degree in Comparative Literature and Technical Architecture from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, respectively. She obtained her Master of Architecture at SCI-Arc, Southern California Institute of Architecture in Los Angeles, where she graduated with honors.

Since 2008 she has worked in renowned national and international studios such as ROTO Architects, MADA s.p.a.m, Eric Owen Moss Architects in Los Angeles, and Estudio Herreros in Madrid. Cayetana has extensive experience as an Architectural Designer and Project Manager in all phases of Design and Construction. She joined TBD in 2020, where she became Managing Partner
